Lecturer
The lecture was delivered by Annika Reynolds (they/them), a leading climate and environmental rights advocate both in the ACT and nationally. Annika is an Honorary Visiting Fellow at the ANU College of Law, focusing on the integration of environmental rights in government decision-making. They are a Senior Co-Chair, Environment and Human Rights at Australian Lawyers for Human Rights and the Founder of GreenLaw, a young-person legal research institute empowering the next generation of lawyers to tackle the climate crisis. In these roles, they have been a leading voice calling for the human right to a healthy environment to be enshrined in ACT human rights law.
Annika was awarded the 2022 ACT Young Environmentalist of the Year Award, for their dedication to climate and environmental justice, and now serves as a Board Member of the Conservation Council of the ACT Region. They are also a member of the ANU Fenner School Research Hub on Gender, Human Rights and Climate Change, convened to advise the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Climate Change.
